Congratulations to Malcolm Nicholson, James Skinner and Ian Tutt (Retired) of the GLAs R&RNAV department who received the Innovation or New Idea Benefitting Trinity House award recently at the 2011 Trinity House Annual Awards Ceremony.
The R&RNAV Visual Signalling team developed a six-sided LED light for use within the GLAs. It's use at Casquets Lighthouse has enabled a solarised solution at the station with the possible application of the solution at other GLA stations and consequent reduction in the GLA's carbon footprint.
