RTCM SC104 Autumn Meeting - Fri, 14 Oct 2011

R&RNAV represented the General Lighthouse Authorities of the United Kingdom and Ireland at the recent meeting of the Radio Technical Commission for Maritime Services Special Committee 104 on Differential Global Navigation Satellite Systems. 

The two broadcast standards, versions 2 and 3, are both being updated to include generic messages so that providers can broadcast corrections for multiple GNSS constellations.

R&RNAV presented at Cheltenham Science Festival - Tue, 9 Aug 2011

The Research and Radionavigation directorate presented the results of their recent GPS jamming trials at the recent Cheltenham Science Festival.  This annual event focuses on bringing science to the general public through a well organised and varied programme of presentations, question and answer sessions, exhibitions and participation events.

eLoran Monitoring at Dungeness to cover Dover Straits - Mon, 1 Aug 2011

R&RNAV have installed a prototype eLoran reference receiver at Dungeness Lighthouse. In time this may enable the site to act as a Differential-eLoran reference station covering the Dover Straits and parts of the English Channel.
